Suffix characters may be used to indicate special bearing, cartridge and outer housing features as laid out in the table.
References to special seal types (some of which require special cartridges) can be found in sealing solutions.
If a letter comes after the ‘C’ in the cartridge designation, it indicates that the cartridge is made from non-standard material. For example:
01 CN 60M and 01 CN 03 – N indicates nodular (ductile) iron
01 CS 60M and 01 CS 03 - S indicates steel
01 CA 60M and 01 CA 03 - A indicates aluminium
For outer housings, the non-standard letter indicator appears between the letter designating the housing type ( ‘P’ for pedestal, ‘F’ for flange or ‘RET’ for rod-end T-type) and the size designation. For example:
PN06 - P06 in nodular (ductile) iron
PS06 - P06 in steel
PA06 - P06 in aluminium
RETN06 – RET06 in nodular (ductile) iron
RETSO6 – RET06 in steel
Numbers suffixed to bearing, cartridge or outer housing designations indicate a combination of special features or parts to special dimensions.
